Porsche and TAG Heuer collaborate to launch the unique 718 GT4 RS Panamericana Special.

In an atmosphere that blends the world of cars and luxury watches, Porsche and TAG Heuer have launched a special model of the Porsche 718 GT4 RS, in a joint collaboration between them, aimed at lovers of luxury and elegance.

718 GT4 RS Panamericana Special

This unique model, named the GT4 RS Panamericana Special, was unveiled at the Rennsport Reunion festival in Laguna Seca, an event dedicated to honoring the Porsche 550 coupes that participated in the Carrera Panamericana race 70 years ago.

In commemoration of that historical period, where two 550 coupes traversed Mexico in that long rally covering more than 3,379 km, Porsche will only produce two versions of the GT4 RS model. The first will carry the number 154 and the second will bear the number 152. What makes these cars special? The power and performance are identical to the original road car, but Porsche’s Sonderwunsch team has developed a special design for them.

The exterior design starts with a Le Mans Silver Metallic paint, which was developed years ago for the 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition.

You can also see the TAG Heuer logo on the wheel caps and the engine's air filter box. The logo on the car, which features the image of the seahorse “Pegasus”, is a nod to the old logo of Mobil Oil, which was the official sponsor during the period when the Porsche 550 coupe participated in the race.

Porsche announced that it would redesign that logo as a sticker available for purchase for those who want to decorate their own car.
Inside, Porsche used red leather, with black anodized aluminum to enhance the cabin. But what's really exciting about the interior design is the TAG Heuer timing unit in the center console. The left watch is a regular watch displaying the time, while the right watch is a special stopwatch for rally timing.

TAG Heuer’s colors and logos are used throughout the interior design, with stitching in green, white, and red colors, and the phrase “GT4 RS Panamericana Special” engraved on the car doors, and TAG Heuer’s logo on the armrest.
There's also a Carrera Panamericana logo on the seats, and the hat logo also appears on the valves. Actor Patrick Dempsey is set to drive car number 154 in the early stages of this year's Carrera Panamericana race, and car number 152 will be unveiled at the same event.

This second car will be displayed at a charity auction, so someone will have the opportunity to own a GT4 RS that looks exactly like the one shown in the pictures.
This move strengthens the collaboration between Porsche and TAG Heuer, who have been partners in many projects over the years, on the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of the Carrera chronograph watch.
